Access to knowledge and opportunities should not depend on where you come from, who you know, or what you study. Through mentorship, seminars, and solidarity projects, we make this path more accessible to everyone.
01 / OUR STORY
While studying in Türkiye, pursuing a master’s or PhD abroad felt distant, even impossible, to many of us. We did not know where to begin. Applications were complicated, scholarship opportunities were unclear, and there were few people we could turn to with our questions. Many days, we put it off, thinking, “This isn’t for me,” “My grades aren’t good enough,” or “I’m not ready yet.”
Today, we continue our academic journeys in Germany and other countries. Looking back, we see that what held us back was often not our ability, but our access to information and the right people. A conversation at the right time, an experience shared honestly, or a little guidance can open doors that seemed closed.
That is why PronusLab was born. We believe overcoming the assumptions that held us back should not depend on luck or connections. By sharing the challenges we faced, the mistakes we made, and what we learned, we want to make this valuable experience visible and accessible to everyone, rather than a privilege for a few.
02 / WHO WE ARE
Our team is made up primarily of academics pursuing master’s degrees and PhDs in Germany and working in STEM fields, particularly biology. We continue to grow with volunteers from a range of fields, from science and design to computing and software.
We bring students in Türkiye together with academics and professionals who have walked the same paths, reducing inequalities in access to knowledge and opportunities. Through social responsibility projects, accessible seminars, and a mentorship system, we make academic and professional journeys more transparent and work together to remove the invisible barriers young people face.
We envision a future where everyone can pursue their goals, regardless of their background, circumstances, or field. We aim to build a growing network of solidarity where each person who receives support goes on to guide the next generation, and equal opportunity in education is the norm rather than the exception.
